Moussa Dembele posts Twitter verdict after winning Celtic goal

By Dominic Toner

Moussa Dembele revealed his relief on Twitter after Celtic booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.

Celtic earned a narrow 1-0 victory against Old Firm rivals Rangers in their semi-final meeting and scored the decisive goal late on.

Forward Dembele grabbed the winning goal in the 87th minute, after smartly flicking home a cross from Leigh Griffiths.

The result means the Bhoys will face Aberdeen in the League Cup final and they also continued their recent success against bitter rivals Rangers.

Celtic cruised to a comfortable 5-1 victory earlier in the season during the league meeting but were made to work much harder this time around.

Celtic hero Dembele expressed his delight with the victory and praised another triumph in the derby.

“Another derby win for us Bhoys. Incredible atmosphere, it took time but we did it. Thanks for your support as always,” Dembele wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Dembele, 20, has made a phenomenal start since his move from Fulham in the summer transfer window.

The striker has now netted an impressive 14 goals in just 20 appearances, including a hat-trick in the league match with Rangers.

He has also proved dangerous in the club’s Champions League campaign and scored twice in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

Celtic face Ross County on Wednesday in the Scottish Premiership and they will hope to strengthen their four-point advantage at the top of the table.

In other Celtic news, the club’s supporters reacted with delight to the cup victory against Rangers.
