Murillo and Elliot Anderson respond as Nottingham Forest exit confirmed

Nottingham Forest players were quick to respond on social media after another player from the squad officially left the club.

Nottingham Forest are preparing for a return to European competition for the first time in nearly 30 years, following an impressive campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo that secured continental qualification.

The club’s summer activity has been busy so far, with Forest completing signings for Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha. But while reinforcements arrive, there have also been notable departures.

Anthony Elanga has completed a move to Newcastle United, Ramon Sosa has returned to Brazil, and uncertainty continues to loom over the future of Morgan Gibbs-White.

Now, another exit has been confirmed, prompting an outpouring of reaction from Forest players across social media.

Nottingham Forest confirm Danilo exit as midfielder joins Botafogo

Nottingham Forest have officially announced that midfielder Danilo has completed a permanent move to Brazilian side Botafogo.

The club shared the news on Instagram with a farewell message that read: “We can confirm that Danilo has completed a permanent transfer to Botafogo. Everyone at Forest thanks Danilo for his contribution while at the Club, wishing him the very best for the next stage of his career.”

The post prompted a wave of reactions from players, with Murillo, Elliot Anderson, and Callum Hudson-Odoi among those who liked the announcement.

Danilo joined Forest from Palmeiras in January 2023 and made 62 appearances for the club, scoring six goals. However, the 24-year-old was limited to just 13 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign after suffering a broken ankle on the opening day of the season.

Despite his injury struggles, Forest have recouped around £16 million for the midfielder as he returns to his home country.

With Edu recently appointed as Nottingham Forest’s Global Head of Football, the club’s relationship with Brazilian sides looks to have strengthened—something that could shape future transfer dealings.

Nottingham Forest told Jacob Ramsey asking price as interest grows

With the side ongoing a squad overhaul this summer, which may see Gibbs-White sign for Tottenham, the club will need to enter the market for a replacement.

Football Insider revealed Forest are showing interest in Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Villa are said to value the 24-year-old at around £50 million.

This follows earlier reports from May suggesting Ramsey is unhappy at Aston Villa with his lack of consistent minutes at Villa Park and may seek a new challenge. With European football on offer under Nuno, a move to Forest could offer Ramsey the game time he desires in a fresh environment.
