Graeme Murty: This is what it will take for Rangers to offload Morelos

Rangers manager Graeme Murty has revealed Alfredo Morelos is in his squad to face Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup on Wednesday night – and insisted the Gers will remain reluctant to sell after a reported £6million plus bid for the Colombian came in from China.
According to the Daily Express, Guangzhou have made a move for Morelos after the striker hit 13 goals in his first 27 games for the Ibrox giants since moving from Finnish champions HJK Helsinki.
The 21-year-old has arguably been the best signing of Pedro Caixinha’s summer spending spree and would be a massive loss to the Gers as they begin the second-half of the Scottish Premiership season.
Murty confirmed Morelos would travel to Fraserburgh with the squad and admitted his valuation of the prolific striker is “high.”
“I won’t allow a player to leave just because there are a lot of zero’s. We would only allow a player to leave with a suitable replacement lined up,” Murty said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“My valuation of Morelos is high, Alfredo is in the squad for tomorrow night and will be travelling up with the team.”

Morelos only cost £1million when the Gers plucked him from Helsinki and the possibility of making more than £5million profit in six months will be appealing to some within the Ibrox boardroom.
If the Gers were to sell Morelos it would leave Jason Cummings, Eduardo Herrera and Kenny Miller as options to replace him unless they could somehow bring in a replacement before the transfer window closes in Scotland on Wednesday night.
China’s transfer window remains open until the 28th of February.
Football Insider verdict:
Rangers shouldn’t even give a second thought to selling Morelos unless a ridiculous sum of money is offered for the 21-year-old. The Colombian can still get much better and if Rangers can hold on to him for another 18-24 months they could make an astronomical profit by selling him. Morelos’ goals are invaluable for Rangers right now and with a lack of any real alternatives not named Jason Cummings, it would leave Murty really short of attacking options as his side try to close the gap to Celtic and aim to lift the Scottish Cup.
