‘Must do better’ – Alan Shearer blasts Man United summer signing who ‘doesn’t have a clue’
Manchester United salvaged a point against Tottenham on Saturday but Alan Shearer has criticised one of their summer signings.
Matthijs de Ligt scored a 96th-minute equaliser on Saturday (8 November), as Man United drew 2-2 with Spurs.
Bryan Mbeumo continued his superb form by giving Ruben Amorim’s side a first-half lead, heading in from an Amad Diallo cross.
However, goals from first Mathys Tel and then Richarlison looked to have turned the game on its head, before De Ligt popped up to ensure the Red Devils took a point back to Manchester.

Man United striker ‘struggling for confidence’
Benjamin Sesko was criticised by Man United fans for his performance against Tottenham, in which he missed two massive chances.
The 22-year-old entered the fray in the 58th minute, spurning two golden opportunities in front of goal, failing to get a shot away on both occasions despite being one-on-one with Guglielmo Vicario.
Speaking on BBC Match of the Day, former Newcastle United striker Shearer was in agreement with the United supporters, slamming Sesko for his inability to find the back of the net.
“Sesko struggled again. He came on today with just over half an hour to go, had two really good chances and should’ve scored, to be honest.
“I know he’s struggling for confidence, but (when he gets through on goal), I don’t think he has a clue what he wants to do.
“Those are two chances at this level that you must put away. It’s a big must do better.”
Benjamin Sesko now an injury doubt
After missing two huge opportunities, Sesko limped off in the latter stages of the game after a tackle by Micky Van de Ven.

The striker was clearly suffering from pain in his knee after the Dutchman’s challenge, but the extent of the injury has yet to be confirmed.
Since Sesko’s summer move to Man United from RB Leipzig, he has scored just two goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for Amorim’s side.
He was dropped from the starting lineup against Spurs after failing to impress in the 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.
With the Slovenian now potentially set for a spell on the sidelines, he could fall even further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
