‘My new golf partner’ – Declan Rice responds as Arsenal agree latest signing
Declan Rice has sent a message to new Arsenal signing Christian Norgaard as they continue pre-season preparations in Singapore.
Mikel Arteta’s side began their tour with a 1-0 win against AC Milan before a pre-arranged penalty shoot-out saw them lose 5-6 after the full-time whistle.
Norgaard started the game in the middle of the park, making his first appearance for the Gunners, and turned in a solid display before massive half-time changes.
Arsenal have completed the signings of Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer and are showing no signs of slowing down.
Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Arsenal are accelerating plans to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, despite Madueke’s arrival in a similar position.
Meanwhile, Arteta’s side are closing in on the signing of Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres as they look to finally resolve their long-term centre-forward concerns.

Declan Rice shares Christian Norgaard message at Arsenal
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 6 July that Norgaard is “perfect” for Arteta and is a “high-quality” signing for Arsenal.
The midfielder’s £10million arrival from Brentford earlier this month has seen the boss add further strength in depth, leadership and experience to his squad.
Rice is well-known to be a lively character in the Gunners’ dressing room and has made early efforts to make the new signing feel at home in his new surroundings.
Taking to Instagram on 24 July, the England star shared an image of himself and Norgaard captioned: “New golf partner” as the pair enjoyed some down-time in Singapore.

Xavi Simons update emerges after RB Leipzig reveal
The Gunners have enjoyed a busy transfer window so far and are showing no signs of slowing down in their pursuit of additions for Arteta’s side.
Alongside links to Eze and Gyokeres, Football Insider revealed on 21 July that Arsenal are interested in signing Xavi Simons as he looks set to leave RB Leipzig.
Premier League suitors have been told it could cost around £60million to sign the Netherlands international amid rival interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.
Chelsea are the current front-runners for Simons and are making efforts to bring him in following their Club World Cup success this summer.
