Mykhailo Mudryk breaks silence with message after confirmed Chelsea news

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has broken his silence after it was confirmed that he has failed a random drugs test.

The Ukraine international faces an uncertain future in football following the positive result for a banned substance

The 23-year-old hasn’t played for the club since scoring in their 2-0 victory against Heideheim on 28 November and hasn’t been in the matchday squad since the 1 December game against Aston Villa.

Mudryk has now taken to social media to provide a statement on the situation, saying, “I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance.

“This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.

“I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon. I cannot say any more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can.”

Chelsea have also released a statement on Mykhailo Mudryk’s situation

Mudryk could be facing up to a four-year ban from football depending on how the situation progresses.

Chelsea released a statement on the matter confirming that Mudryk has been contacted regarding a recent test as the club said:

“Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support The FA’s testing programme and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested. Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances. Both Mykhailo and the Club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding.”

The left winger has featured 15 times for the Blues in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
