Nasser Djiga: Wolves return on cards as Rangers deal stalls over ‘option’ fee
Rangers loanee Nasser Djiga looks set to return to Wolves this summer due to discrepancies over his price tag, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old has an £8million option to buy in his loan deal at Ibrox, but there are doubts about whether the Scottish club will be able to match it.
Danny Rohl is keen to strengthen his side this summer regardless of where they finish in the title race, with funds likely to be reinvested elsewhere.
Meanwhile, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Rob Edwards is weighing up Djiga’s role in his Wolves squad.
The Black Country outfit are closing in on relegation from the Premier League and plan to assess their entire squad, potentially forcing Rangers to look elsewhere.

Football Insider revealed on 29 March that Rohl is keen to keep Djiga at Ibrox and views him as an important part of his squad if not always a regular starter.
The centre-back has done a fine job alongside the likes of John Souttar and Emmanuel Fernandez, but there are doubts about whether he warrants a lofty price tag.

Should Rangers miss out on Champions League qualification, it may be impossible to stretch their budget that far, but the deal may be at risk either way.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I’m sure in an ideal scenario Rangers would be interested in making Djiga’s move permanent.
“But it’s a difficult deal to do because there’s an 8 million buy option in there, and obviously Rangers don’t really want to have to spend that type of money.
“After a shaky start, he’s starting to establish himself as a first-team regular under Danny Rohl and is showing his best form.
“We don’t know what Wolves are planning for Djiga either. Will he come back into the fold for them next season if they are in the Championship?
“There’ll be a big overhaul of players at Wolves in the summer with relegation from the Premier League, so maybe Djiga might have a chance of coming back into the fold.
“His price tag makes it difficult for Rangers to sign him on a permanent basis, with Wolves making a decision about whether he can come back into the fold.
“For Rangers, there’ll be lots of areas of the squad they’ll be looking strengthen in, so they might not be able to fork out that 8 million on Djiga on a permanent basis.”
Rangers plan to block Emmanuel Fernandez exit
Amid doubts about whether they will be able to keep Djiga at the club, Rangers are also bracing for offers for other key defenders ahead of the summer window.
Football Insider revealed on 17 March that Rangers plan to keep Fernandez at Ibrox, with Premier League clubs preparing to step up their interest.

West Ham are the latest club to be linked with the centre-back, although their Premier League status is uncertain, as they hope to lure him to England.
The likes of Arsenal and Man United have also previously been linked, but their interest is not believed to be advanced beyond keeping tabs on his progress.
Rohl is extremely reluctant to see any of his key players leave Ibrox this summer, and hopes the club will be able to keep hold of Fernandez despite the interest.
