Neco Williams reacts as Morgan Gibbs-White makes Nottingham Forest transfer decision
Nottingham Forest ended the saga over Morgan Gibbs-White’s future by handing the England international a new contract on Saturday.
Tottenham had triggered a £60million release clause in the attacking midfielder’s contract, but Nottingham Forest considered legal action over the move.
But the 25-year-old is now set to remain at the City Ground after agreeing to a fresh deal, keeping him in the East Midlands until 2028.
Meanwhile, Tottenham supporters have been left furious by the news that Gibbs-White is staying with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

Gibbs-White played a key role as Nottingham Forest clinched European football last term, notching seven goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances.
The City Ground side announced his new contract via Instagram on 26 July: “A statement of intent from our owner Evangelos Marinakis, as Morgan Gibbs-White signs a record deal at the club until the summer of 2028. “
Forest’s post attracted a like from defender Neco Williams, who made 35 Premier League appearances for Espirito Santo’s men last term.

Nottingham Forest enjoyed a remarkable season last term, propelling themselves to seventh in the Premier League table and to the FA Cup semi-finals just one year on from enduring a relegation battle.

However, the East Midlands club seemed destined for a difficult summer transfer window after winger Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle United.
Elanga excelled in Forest colours last season by scoring six goals and creating 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
Losing both the former Manchester United man and Gibbs-White in the same window would have carried devastating consequences for the City Ground outfit, as they vie to continue progressing in the Premier League alongside newfound European duties.
However, now that Gibbs-White is remaining at Nottingham Forest, the former Wolves man can help Esipirito Santo’s men continue to re-establish themselves as a prominent force in the top flight.
The 25-year-old will strive to achieve even more success than last season, and hit a double-figure goals return for the first time since his loan spell with Sheffield United in 2021/22.
