Sky Sports pundit Neil McCann hailed the performance of Stuart Armstrong after his display against Rangers on Saturday.
The 24-year-old started the match in Celtic’s midfield alongside Scott Brown and Callum McGregor in the 2-1 victory and caught the eye of many.
He was one of few Hoops players not to be overawed by the occasion at Ibrox and he played a stunning ball through to Scott Sinclair for the winner.
The Aston Villa summer signing took Sky Sports’ man-of-the-match award for the winner, but McCann also singled out Armstrong as one of the stars of the show.
“Watch Stuart Armstrong,” started McCann speaking on Sky Sports 1 after the match. “We spoke about it, if you can’t deal with Dembele, Forrest and Sinclair you better watch for the midfield run.
“Armstrong’s been electrifying today, I thought he had a superb performance along with man-of-the-match Scott Sinclair.”
Armstrong has been one of the key players in Brendan Rodgers’ unbeaten side this season with eight goals and four assists from 29 encounters in all competitions.
He will be hoping to continue with his good form with Celtic all but certain to win the Premiership for the sixth consecutive time this season.
The Hoops are now 19 points clear at the top of the table with the Gers now someway behind in second.
They are unbeaten after 20 fixtures and with a break coming up now, they will be keen to recharge their batteries and return in the same form that they finished.
In other Celtic news, Chris Sutton has aimed a massive dig at Rangers after the defeat.
