Forget Old Firm title party, Celtic must ignore fans wishes and smash Hibernian
Celtic have the possibility of winning their seventh title in a row on Saturday when they take on Hibernian at Easter Road.
But some fans are in a quandary, and would wish that the Hoops drop points in the game, setting up the prospect of an Old Firm title party against Rangers a week later – provided that the Gers beat Hearts on Sunday.
That notion should be dismissed out of hand the Hoops should be looking to clinch the title as soon as possible, and in some style as well.
With the Scottish Cup Final not until the 19th of May, Brendan Rodgers will want to give his squad players as much playing time as possible before the showpiece match of the Scottish season, so that his mainstays of the team can be rested and raring to go against Motherwell with the chance of completing a domestic treble.
With that in mind, the Hoops boss will want his players to go all out for the win at Easter Road. There’s little chance of the likes of Scott Brown or Kieran Tierney taking the game lightly, and they will won the league won at the weekend.
