Rangers are reportedly in talks with Ross McCrorie and Robby McCrorie about bumper contract extensions for the Ibrox duo – and it could prove to be the best bit of business the Gers do all year.
According to the Scottish Sun, the talented twins are set to sign off on new long-term deals to commit their future to the Ibrox giants.
Since making the breakthrough into the first-team squad, defender Ross has impressed fans and pundits alike with a string of composed performances and – despite his howler against Hamilton on Saturday – has shown signs that he could go on to be a genuinely top-class defender for the Light Blues.
With a handful of first-team appearances under his belt, the 19-year-old can hopefully now kick on and make a regular first-team place his own despite competition from the likes of Bruno Alves Fabio Cardoso and Danny Wilson.
Twin brother Robby is currently on loan at League Two side Berwick Rangers and has impressed for the Wee Gers as they try and win promotion to Scotland’s third tier.
The young goalkeeper was highly-coveted with a host of Premier League clubs looking to snap him up before he signed professional terms with Rangers.
With Wes Foderingham, Jak Alnwick and Liam Kelly ahead of him in the pecking order at Ibrox. the shot-stopper will need to bide his time for a first-team opportunity.
Both players have huge futures ahead of them at Ibrox and could quite easily form part of the side for the next decade and beyond.
Forget about all of Pedro Caixinha’s signings, this double piece of business for the Gers will be the best signings they’ve made all year.
Both are comfortable in possession and have shone as they have made their way through the club’s Academy.
Scottish youth internationals in their own right, the pair could become the first set of twins since Frank and Ronald de Boer to play in the same Rangers side if Robby can follow his brother into the Ibrox first-team.
In other Rangers news, this 46-year-old manager who is wanted by the Gers is set to hold talks.
