'New Grealish' tipped for breakthrough at Aston Villa tomorrow - Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Emiliano Buendia for a breakout performance for Aston Villa against Arsenal on Friday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer suggested Buendia can be Jack Grealish’s heir at Villa Park.

The Argentine moved to Aston Villa from Norwich City for a club-record fee that could rise to £38million over the summer before Grealish completed his £100million move to Man City.

When Grealish left his boyhood club Buendia took over his iconic number 1`0 shirt.

However, the 24-year-old has had a slow start at his new club and his appearance against Wolves last weekend was his first Premier League start since August.

“He’s getting better and better every game he plays in,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It’s going to take him time, this is the big league, it’s not the Championship.

“It will take time but it’s promising. He was very influential in the game until he came off.

“It’s another big game on Friday night against Arsenal, this is the sort of game where you can make a name for yourself.

“He’s got to be going out in the game and showing why he was bought for big money by Aston Villa. Go and do the same again and keep improving game by game.

“This was what he was bought for, to be the Grealish of the team, and make things happen.”

Buendia scored 15 times and provided 17 assists in 39 Championship games last season as Norwich stormed to the Championship title.

So far, he has one goal to his name in seven appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa.
