‘New levels of embarrassing’ – Celtic fans explode as Wilfried Nancy’s social media account exposed
Celtic supporters have instantly lost any remaining belief in Wilfried Nancy after coming across the manager’s social media account.
After replacing Brendan Rodgers in December, Nancy is already under severe pressure at Celtic Park, with the former Columbus Crew boss failing to win any of his first three matches in charge.
Celtic were embarrassed by Roma in the Europa League before losing the League Cup final to St Mirren on Sunday, 14 December, though Nancy clearly believes in himself to turn things around.
The 48-year-old remains calm and collected when in front of the press, and with fans now discovering what appears to be his account on X, he is no stranger to motivational quotes and images.
Wilfried Nancy attracts attention with a profile picture change
Taking to X with a new profile picture, the image speaks motivationally about what he can control, and unsurprisingly, Celtic supporters are absolutely baffled, with one labelling it “new levels of embarrassing”.
One supporter was so outraged that he simply responded, “sack him”, with many failing to understand why their manager has gone to posting on social media when he is already under pressure.
- @K_h__1888: “Account followed my MLS. It’s his real account. We are a finished football club.”
- @Kieran_Celtic: “Sack him.”
- @Lewis_CFC_120: “This came from the horse’s mouth, but I would be lying to say this doesn’t look like him. The official Montreal and MLS accounts follow him, plus a pinned tweet about Columbus. It’s not looking good, bruv.”
Sack rumours intensify at Celtic Park
It is absolutely no surprise to see that the majority of those at Celtic Park are already frustrated with the new manager, even just three matches into his tenure.
Celtic fans were warned over Nancy’s arrival, and after just a handful of performances, he is already being compared to that of Russell Martin, who lasted just five months in charge at Ibrox.
Being appointed at either of the Old Firm clubs comes with massive pressure, which some managers clearly don’t understand, and that could quickly bring an end to his tenure.
Celtic next take on Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday, 17 December, which will be seen as a must-win for the Hoops, having fallen six points behind league leaders Hearts.
Nancy’s first game was to lose to Derek McInnes‘ side, and after that, the scene appeared to be set.
