Newcastle ace Bruno Guimaraes sends message to Real Madrid ‘brother’

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes posted on social media dedicating a message to Real Madrid winger and Brazil teammate Rodrygo.

The Brazilian international missed out on his team’s famous victory on 7 January against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup due to suspension.

However, he remained in high spirits after the game as he posted on social media celebrating the victory with his teammates.

He took to Instagram once again but to direct a message to Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who celebrated his 24th birthday on 9 January.

Guimaraes said on his story (translated from Portuguese): Congratulations to my partner!! People are too nice man. We’re together brother, heaven and peace. May Father from heaven continue to bless you always, brother”.

Bruno Guimaraes is key for anything Newcastle achieve this season

Rodrygo seems to be popular amongst Premier League players as Lucas Paqueta also sent a message to the winger on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Guimaraes’ absence from Newcastle’s starting line-up against the Gunners may have caused some anxiety among fans.

The Magpies are in pursuit of their first major piece of silverware since 1955, and Guimaraes is a pivotal figure in Eddie Howe’s system.

Despite his absence, Howe’s team secured a historic win in North London, earning a crucial first-leg advantage. This result underlines the resilience of the squad, even without their star midfielder.

The 27-year-old has been instrumental this season, registering one goal and six assists while starting 21 of 24 matches across all competitions. His consistent performances at the highest level have made him indispensable to the team.

Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted interest from Europe’s elite clubs. Man City, in particular, have been heavily linked with the Brazilian. They have identified him as a long-term target to bolster their midfield.

For now, however, Newcastle are enjoying their great form, with seven consecutive wins, including notable victories over Man United, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

The focus now shifts to the FA Cup, where they face a favourable match-up against League Two side Bromley at St James’ Park, with hopes of continuing their impressive run.
