Newcastle’s title winning stars have been celebrating their Championship success with the man behind the goal which saw the Magpies leapfrog Brighton into top spot.
Rafael Benitez’s side needed to better league leaders Brighton’s result on the final day of the season, but looked destined to finish as runners-up after Glenn Murray put the Seagulls 1-0 against 10 man Aston Villa.
That was until Villa midfielder Jack Grealish curled home an equaliser for the Midlands club, which meant that Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Barnsley was enough to secure the title.
Less than a week after their success, some of the Magpies top players have been celebrating their win with Villa man Grealish.
Current Newcastle defender and former Aston Villa man Ciaran Clark posted a photo on his official Twitter account on Friday of the celebrations.

In the photo are Newcastle men Grant Hanley (left), Dwight Gayle (centre) and Clark (right), with Grealish sandwiched between the striker and his former team-mate.
Clark was an underwhelming signing when he arrived at St James’ Park in the summer of 2016 but has gone on to establish himself as one of Newcastle’s key men at the heart of the Magpies’ defence.
Fellow centre-back Hanley has struggled for game time after signing from Blackburn thanks to the form of Clark and captain Jamaal Lascelles, making just 10 league appearances.
Gayle meanwhile was pivotal up the other end of the pitch for Benitez’s side, scoring 23 goals in the league to fire them to the Premier League and finish as the club’s top scorer this season.
In other Newcastle transfer news, the Magpies are a surprise name in the running to sign this Leeds player.
