‘Newcastle could sell Alexander Isak to PSG for reduced fee’ – finance expert
Newcastle do not want to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool and would rather the striker join PSG.
That is according to football finance expert Dan Plumley, who explained to Football Insider that the Reds would have to pay a “premium” to secure the striker’s signature this summer.
Isak was left out of Newcastle’s squad for their 4-0 friendly loss to Celtic, and was also not included in their squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.
The club initially indicated that both absences were the result of an injury, but it has since been revealed that the striker wants to leave St. James’ Park this summer.
Isak has been the subject of significant interest from Liverpool, who have since signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, with Luis Diaz on his way to Bayern Munich, the Reds seem likely to once again explore a move for the former Real Sociedad man.

Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid can afford Alexander Isak
Newcastle have made abundantly clear they do not want to sell Isak this summer.
But, finance expert Plumley exclusively told Football Insider exclusively that if the Magpies do sell their star striker, they would prefer he does not join rivals Liverpool.
When asked who could afford Isak, the senior lecturer from Sheffield Hallam University said: “You’re looking at the biggest clubs in the world. Take that Deloitte football money league revenue list, look at the top 10, and it’s anybody in that mix.
“If he’s going to go to an English club, we know they’re going to charge a premium anyway, and he would be £100-150m. We saw £150m quoted if it was going to be Liverpool.

“Newcastle don’t want to sell to a rival, but for that kind of player, you know, nowadays you’re looking at the biggest clubs in England, you’re looking at Barcelona, Real Madrid, you’re looking at a Bayern Munich, you’re looking at a PSG.
“It’s those clubs that have the firepower to be able to spend and afford it.
“Now, whether it’s any of those that are interested, we’ve got no idea, but in terms of the affordability, it’s going to be one of those clubs.
“Ultimately, Newcastle don’t want to sell him to a domestic rival, probably not a European rival as well. We know they want to keep him if they can.
“The biggest clubs in the world would be the ones that you’re looking at. If he is going to go anywhere, they’re the ones that would be able to afford him the most.”

Newcastle eye deal for Wolves star Strand Larsen
Amidst the chaos of Isak’s transfer saga, the Magpies have seemingly identified a new target to replace the Swede.
Jorgen Strand Larsen is a target for Newcastle this summer after the hulking Norwegian striker scored 14 and assisted four for Wolves last season.
However, having sold Matheus Cunha to Man United earlier in the summer, the Old Gold are in a similar position to the Magpies; keen to avoid their star striker leaving.
