Newcastle expected 4-4-1-1 v Huddersfield: Attacker axed in three changes
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Newcastle are expected to make three changes to their side which takes on Huddersfield at the John Smith’s stadium on Saturday evening.
Rafa Benitez’ men ran out late 2-1 victors over Brighton in the top of the table clash with goals from Mohamed Diame and Ayoze Perez in the last 10 minutes.
The Spanish manager boldly lined out his team without a natural striker at the AMEX stadium, but he was fortunately bailed out after bringing on the powerful Daryl Murphy with 16 minutes to go.
It is now likely that the Republic of Ireland international will be named in the starting eleven to face the Terriers with Dwight Gayle injured and this will see attacker Yoan Gouffran axed after struggling to perform the lone striker role in midweek.
Full-back DeAndre Yedlin and midfielder Jack Colback are also likely to drop out of the team for both Vurnon Anita and Perez respectively.

It is likely that Benitez will bring Anita back into the full-back position due to him being more defensively capable than the pacey Yedlin.
Meanwhile, Colback has come in for much criticism from sections of the support in recent times and Benitez may also move Diame back into the centre of the park with Perez coming into the attacking midfield position.
Other than Murphy also the team is expected to remain unchanged and consistent stars Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Jonjo Shelvey will all need to be at the top of their game if they are to pick up a crucial three points against the third placed Championship team.
