Newcastle fans: Anthony Gordon ‘needs to leave’ after what he did v Arsenal
Newcastle United fans have been left raging at Anthony Gordon after what they saw in his performance against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Eddie Howe’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat away from home after a first half in which they failed to take any of their numerous chances to score.
The second half then saw the hosts take the lead courtesy of a Declan Rice strike before Mikel Arteta’s men were able to grind out a victory.
However, the biggest frustration for the travelling supporters was Gordon’s attitude, alongside his error which led to the winning goal.
As a result, they are calling on the club to accept significant offers for him during the summer transfer window, with numbers between £40million and £75million suggested.
This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Newcastle could accept “huge” offers for Gordon this summer.

Arsenal eye Anthony Gordon after St James’ Park exit twist
There is a growing belief that, if the Magpies are forced to sell for financial reasons, Gordon is the most likely of their star players to be moved on.
Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Arsenal could move to sign Gordon as Arteta aims to strengthen his wide options in the transfer window.
The winger’s agent has been circulating his name as a potential option in recent weeks and is said to be driving the speculation about his future.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal could cash in on Gabriel Martinelli if they can find a replacement, with Gordon high on their list.
Newcastle fans call for Anthony Gordon to be sold
Despite a flying start to his St James’ Park career under Howe, the winger has endured a difficult season this time out, leading to suggestions he could be sold.
Fans have not always been pleased with his displays either, as Newcastle supporters slammed Gordon after he was sent off during their FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
Now, those frustrations have emerged once again as fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction, labelling him “useless” and “diabolical”.
