Newcastle fans are completely divided after crushing Yoane Wissa news
Yoane Wissa’s career at Newcastle is set to be a slow burner following a latest injury blow to Eddie Howe.
Wissa joined Newcastle following four seasons at Brentford, but was not included in the matchday squad to face Wolves last time out.
Fellow summer arrival Nick Woltemade netted the winner against Wolves as Newcastle claimed their first three points of the season.
Amid Alexander Isak’s long running transfer saga during the summer, Wissa and Woltemade were signed late in the window, but it will be the latter Howe will have to rely upon for the foreseeable future.

Newcastle fans react to Yoane Wissa news
Wissa will miss up to eight Newcastle matches, and be out until after the October international break, meaning Woltemade and 22-year-old William Osula will be the only options available to Howe up-front over the next month.
Newcastle also lost Callum Wilson over the summer as a free agent and Wissa was signed to replace the now West Ham striker.
Some fans compared Wissa to Wilson, amid the latter’s many injury problems whilst at the club.
One fan wrote: “Tbf he is the Callum Wilson replacement in every sense.”
Other supporters were raging at the injury, with one commenting: “So what is the point in haven him what a waste of money.“
“Should have just stumped up the money for Larsen instead. Then get Wissa in January when he’d be cheaper,” another wrote.
Other Newcastle fans felt there was a curse with their injury record.
“Honestly, if we signed Superman he’d do his ACL inside his first week. Cursed,” one stated.
Other fans saw the positives in the news in relation to Woltemade and the German now getting a run in the team, whilst one posted: “It’s actually perfect timing that for Wissa to come back.
“Just as fixtures really start to kick in but also we have a decent little run of favourable fixtures. Could have been better but could have been a lot worse.”
Nightmare start for Wissa at Newcastle
Wissa was eager for a move to Newcastle over the summer, missing training at Brentford to force a move to St James’ Park.
The forward will have to continue to wait to make his mark at his new club, though, and that could offer Woltemade a chance to cement himself in the number nine role.
Howe will be eager to get Wissa back in the squad soon, as his options are light in attack, and further injuries could hugely hinder him.
The first three matches of the season pre-Wolves showcased Newcastle’s lack of threat without a centre forward, and Woltemade will now feel the pressure to spearhead the attack until Wissa returns.
