'Unreal', 'Would come cheap' - Newcastle fans urge club to sign up 25-year-old
By Russell Edge
Newcastle fans rushed to social media to sing the praises of on-loan winger Christian Atsu after he impressed in their victory over Chelsea.
The Chelsea-owned man won and scored a sublime free kick to open the scoring in the Magpies’ 2-0 over the Welsh side, and keep his team in with a chance of catching league leaders Brighton for the Championship title.
It is the first time in the winger’s career that he has scored league goals in successive matches, after finishing an incisive breakaway in Newcastle’s 4-1 win over Preston.
With his impressive performances, Atsu is proving a point to boss Rafael Benitez and the Newcastle hierarchy, who are reported by ESPN to be mulling over a £6.5m deal for the Ghanaian international.
After his goal against the Bluebirds, the 25-year-old thanked the fans in their support and praised his fellow players on his official Twitter account.

Atsu showing tonight why we should give him a chance… Got a spark in him, and would come cheap. I'd have him in the squad. #NUFC

Wasn't convinced on signing Atsu permanently. But after last two games, might have a decision to make ???? #nufc

Didn't know that Atsu had that kind of quality in him, he's done enough to make his move permanent hasn't he? #NUFC

However, not every fan was convinced he had done enough to earn a permanent deal at St James’ Park:
Problem with Atsu for me he doesn't beat players enough………… and remember we're in the Championship, it's 10 times harder in the PL
