Newcastle fans react on Twitter as Benitez orchestrates start of first-team exodus

By Will Butcher

Newcastle fans are anticipating a busy end to the transfer window as they expect manager Rafa Benitez to bring in depth after allowing many senior men to leave.

Tim Krul is expected to join Siem de Jong back in Holland after the playmaker completed a loan move to PSV Eindhoven on Monday afternoon.

The Mail report goalkeeper Krul is expected to sign a new Magpies contract before signing for Ajax as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen, who is about to complete a move to Spanish Champions Barcelona.

Fringe players Emmanuel Riviere, Henri Saivet, and Cheick Tiote could all join Florian Thauvin and Remy Cabella in leaving St James’ Park, while first-teamers Moussa Sissoko and Daryl Janmaat have also been interesting other sides.

Fans have reacted on Twitter by calling on their beloved club’s manager to replace the outgoing players, as they believe depth could be the key to an instant return to the Premier League.

Benitez has been active in the summer transfer market, spending almost £45million on eight new signings.

Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie both cost around £10million, while Mohamed Diame, Ciaran Clark, Grant Hanley, Isaac Hayden and Jesus Gamez have also put pen to paper on deals with the Magpies.

In other Newcastle transfer news, the Toon could add this Dutch goal machine to their attack in a cut-price deal.
