Fulham recorded a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Blackburn on Tuesday night – and Newcastle fans believe that result sums up the Championship.
The London-based club secured an impressive and deserved 3-1 win at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon with Ryan Sessegnon scoring a brace.
The 16-year-old was the star of the show as his promotion-chasing team picked up valuable points on the road.
However, they have followed that impressive win with dropped points against Blackburn who moved out of the bottom three with that point at Craven Cottage.
Lucas João netted a 94th-minute equaliser to give the hosts a taste of their own medicine after they had done the same to secure a point against Leeds the previous week.
Nonetheless, the Magpies fans were annoyed at how their side failed to get anything against Fulham after that result.
One supporter felt that Rafa Benitez gave the away team too much respect at the weekend as they played the north east club off the park.
The dropped points is damaging for Fulham because it means they have missed the chance to move into the top six.
Three points on Tuesday night could have seen them overtake sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday who suffered a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday.
Overall, Newcastle supporters believe it was typical of the Championship to throw up a result such as this after their defeat at the weekend.
