Huddersfield recorded their sixth straight league win on Tuesday night – and Newcastle supporters expressed their concern on Twitter about their promotion rivals.
Rafael Benitez’s side are currently top of the Championship table and are vying for one of the two automatic spots this season.
They are a point ahead of second-placed Brighton, who have been impressive under Chris Hughton.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield continue to be the closest challengers to the top two as they recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Reading.
Philip Billing scored an 82nd minute winner for the Yorkshire club and they have moved to just five points behind Newcastle.
David Wagner’s side are the in-form team in the division with six consecutive league victories and travel to Barnsley on Saturday for their next match.
Newcastle fans are now nervously looking over their shoulders and are concerned about the threat of Huddersfield.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Huddersfield on one of those runs when everything seems to go for them. Need to make sure we keep our own run going. Sure #NUFC will sort it

Sick of Huddersfield. So close to a good #NUFC result, but they scrape it again.

They face a huge game on 4 March when they travel to Huddersfield in the Championship, a match the Magpies will be desperate not to lose.
The previous meeting at St James’ Park ended in a 2-1 away victory for Huddersfield in just the second game of the season.
