Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Yedlin performance v Derby
By Harvey Byrne
Newcastle fans reacted with delight to DeAndre Yedlin scoring his first goal for the club on Saturday in their 2-0 victory over Derby.
His injury-time strike added to Yoan Gouffran’s first half goal to give the Magpies a win at the iPro Stadium.
The right-back came on for Gouffran on the 73rd minute before his goal seventeen minutes later.
Toon fans were clearly delighted with the impact of the substitute in the game and many supporters took it as an opportunity to brag over fierce rivals and Yedlin’s former side Sunderland.

However, one fan was disappointed with what they saw from the USA international comparing him to Arsenal’s Theo Walcott.

The 23-year-old attacking full-back moved to St James’ Park in the summer window from Premier League side Tottenham.
He spent last season on loan at Sunderland where he played in 25 encounters to help the Black Cats stay in the top flight ahead of his current side.
Yedlin made his debut for Rafa Benitez’s side as an 88th minute substitute against Brighton before the international break.
The Spaniard is keen to return his side to the Premier League at the first time of asking and Newcastle currently sit in second place after six games.
In other Newcastle team news, the Toon are set to unveil a statue worth £250,000 on Monday for Magpies legend Alan Shearer.
