Newcastle fans tear into ‘disgraceful’ Bruno Guimaraes after what they spotted

Newcastle United fans have torn into Bruno Guimaraes after his display in their defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Eddie Howe’s side suffered their first defeat of the season in a 3-1 loss away from home after goals from Raul Jimenez, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson, while theirs came courtesy of Harvey Barnes.

Following the defeat, the Magpies have received plenty of criticism from their fans who have been frustrated with their lacklustre displays so far this season.

The Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards took to social media following the game to slam four of their star players, and fans joined him in their rage at Howe’s team.

However, it is Bruno who has received the brunt of the blame for the defeat after his “awful” performance in midfield contributed to the defeat.

It was his part in Fulham’s third goal, especially, which left the travelling supporters raging as he attempted a pass straight across their own box, which fell to Nelson who tucked it away.

Normally so dependable for the Magpies, the 26-year-old has looked off the boil so far this season and fans are growing tired of his displays.

Newcastle United fans rage at ‘overrated’ Bruno Guimaraes after Fulham defeat

Bruno was named as the new club captain before the start of the season, and some fans are speculating that the added expectation has caused the drop in form.

A costly mistake against Fulham summed up what has been a poor start to the season for the midfielder and Howe’s team overall, and frustrations are now beginning to boil over.

Taking to social media following the game, the travelling supporters have labelled him “overrated” and “an absolute disgrace” as they were left seething at his performance.

In other news, Newcastle fans have called for the club to accept a bid for Sean Longstaff.
