Newcastle have ‘big’ chance of Premier League survival as images emerge in last 24 hours – Agbonlahor
The morale in the Newcastle United squad will be sky high out in Saudi Arabia and it could be the difference in the relegation battle.
That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England forward Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Newcastle’s survival hopes.
The club shared the first pictures today (26 January) on their Twitter account of their warm-weather training camp in Saudi Arabia.
They flew to the Middle East off the back of their second Premier League win of the season – a 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
“It was a massive win, especially for team morale,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“If they had lost to Leeds it would have been a moody, strict trip. Now they’ve won that game it can be a bit more relaxed. They can have a few days to rest after such an intense schedule.
“Then they can get to work and Eddie Howe can get his ideas across.
“Newcastle are looking promising. I thought they would go down but bringing in Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, they are showing that fight and spirit. They’ve got every chance of staying up.
“When you look at Watford, when you look at Norwich, when you look at Burnley and if Newcastle can get a couple of more players in and Callum Wilson back there is a big chance of staying up.”

Newcastle are next in action when they host Everton next month (8 February).
They are just one point from safety and have a game in hand over 17th-place Norwich City.
In other news, Newcastle United are in advanced talks over signing a boyhood Toon fan.
