Newcastle tipped to announce multiple signings this week after 'brilliant' deal agreed - pundit
Newcastle will announce at least one new signing this week after securing the services of Kieran Trippier.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ next move.
On Friday, Newcastle confirmed the signing of Trippier from Atletico Madrid.
According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (7 January), the Magpies’ next move is attempting to seal deals for Sevilla’s Diego Carlos and Lille’s Sven Botman.
Newcastle are also in desperate need of a striker with Callum Wilson ruled out for eight weeks.
Ahead of a huge game against Watford on Saturday (15 January), Newcastle need new signings and McAvennie claims the club will get them.

“Trippier, £12million, that’s such a brilliant deal,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s an England player, £12million. That’s nothing. Whoever the owners have got in to help them is doing a good job.
“The rest of the deals need to be more like that. They don’t want to be overpaying.
“You see some clubs paying millions and millions for these kinds of players.
“If the Trippier signing is going to be followed by similar deals then that can only be good news for Newcastle.
“They need players in by that Watford game and I think they will do it and get them announced.”
Newcastle sit 19th in the Premier League and have only won one game from 21 this season.
However, they could jump above Watford with a win this weekend.
