Newcastle tipped to sign ‘brilliant’ Lingard next week after source’s update – pundit
Paddy Kenny admits he can see Jesse Lingard leaving Man United and joining Newcastle this month.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, expects any move to happen in the last days of the January transfer window.
This site revealed on Friday (21 January) Man United have rejected a £5million-plus Newcastle loan bid for Lingard, 29.

It is understood the Premier League giants are willing to offload the 29-year-old in this month’s window but are holding out for a permanent deal.
Lingard is believed to be very interested in joining the north-east big spenders and has been impressed by the ambition they have shown already this month.
Kenny can see a deal eventually being agreed.
“It’s a catch 22 for Newcastle,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I understand why Lingard would only want to go on loan considering the bleak situation at Newcastle.
“That’s just the player protecting himself and I have no real problem with that.
“But if Man United are only going to sell him then there is nothing that can be done unless another team comes in for him.
“I don’t think he will go to West Ham, why would Man United strengthen a rival?
“So maybe if this goes into the last days of the window we could see some movement.
“That wouldn’t surprise me, priorities change very quickly in football.
“Lingard would be a brilliant signing and in all honesty, I can see him at Newcastle.”

Lingard has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season but only two of these outings have been starts.
