Newcastle to surely be forced into action as Said El Mala bid expected
Newcastle United target Said El Mala is reportedly set to be the subject of a stunning £43million bid from Brentford.
The winger is being tracked by much of Europe after enjoying a brilliant breakout season, in which he has netted 13 goals across all competitions.
Newcastle are among several interested Premier League sides, with El Mala undoubtedly set to be overwhelmed with offers in the coming weeks.
The Germany youth international could still stay at FC Koln for another season, having signed a new contract until 2030 last summer.
But Newcastle transfer chiefs will be keen to get ahead of the 19-year-old’s potential, with the asking price only set to increase in the coming years.

Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider in March that Bayern Munich are also interested in El Mala, with the winger highly coveted.
The German only joined Koln in 2024, signing from third-tier side, Viktoria Koln, in a deal worth around £2m.

The talent had starred for the Under-19s and netted his first goal in 3. Liga. The following season saw him loaned back to Viktoria, where he continued to thrive.
This season, El Mala has really impressed. Predominantly a left winger, the 19-year-old is a deadly finisher and a brilliant dribbler.
Koln are aware of the interest mounting in him and have reportedly set a £43m price tag, a fee that, reported by Sport Bild via Transfermarkt, the forward has informed his teammates that Brentford are willing to pay.
The Bees are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe on the final day of the Premier League, although it is unclear whether their interest in El Mala will be affected.
Newcastle must act quickly
With Anthony Gordon’s potential move to Bayern looking to be progressing swiftly, decision-makers at St James’ Park must act quickly.
The market for wingers is not massive, and there will be plenty of interest in the likes of El Mala this summer.
Should Newcastle be keen to sign a replacement on that level, they will need to come prepared with a strong bid and a convincing pitch.
The 19-year-old has plenty of facets to be excited about, but he will not be the only option on the Magpies’ list.
