Newcastle told to finalise Alexander Isak deal after new twist

Newcastle supporters are demanding that the club extend Alexander Isak’s deal after talks between the two parties reportedly stalled.

According to talkSPORT, the 25-year-old is demanding the club make him the top earner and add a release clause in order for him to commit to a new deal.

Football Insider revealed that Arsenal have had a long-standing interest in the Sweden international, and the club have been put on “red alert” over the recent news.

Isak’s current deal at St. James’ Park doesn’t expire until 2028, but the Magpies have been looking to extend that.

The prolific striker has scored 36 goals and provided six assists in 73 appearances since joining the north east giants in 2022.

Isak is currently out of action due to a broken toe which has led to missing the previous two Premier League fixtures.

The Toon Army wants to see Isak put pen to paper on a new deal to ensure his long-term future is at Tyneside, while other fans have claimed there is “nothing to see here.”

According to TalkSPORT, Alexander Isak wants to sign a new long term deal to stay on Tyneside and in the process become Newcastle United’s highest paid player.

That currently is Bruno Guimaraes, who earns around £160,000-a-week.

Its a real challenge when Joelinton, Bruno and Gordon all get new contracts to make them highest/close to highest earners. Isak's agent obviously goes with the same strategy and becomes highest earner. Which sees Bruno's agent on the phone and so on.
