Newcastle told to pull the plug on last-gasp Kieran Trippier sale – fans react

Newcastle United fans have warned the club that selling Kieran Trippier in the next fortnight would be a “mistake.”

It was reported this week that the full-back could still leave St. James’ Park as the transfer window remains open in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Football Insider did reveal that the Magpies will attempt to block any moves for the former England international in the coming weeks.

This is despite Tino Livramento seemingly replacing the 33-year-old as Eddie Howe’s first-choice right-back.

Trippier has not started a game in the Premier League this season, having only played 32 minutes of top-flight football so far.

Trippier retired from international duty following the European Championships this summer, allowing him to concentrate on club football moving forward.

Newcastle United fans tell the club they can’t sell Kieran Trippier

While the transfer window remains open in certain countries, Newcastle could not replace Trippier until January at the earliest.

Many fans have highlighted the club failed to sign a right centre-back this summer, and allowing Trippier to leave would weaken the squad without any backup.
