Medical scheduled & fee agreed: Newcastle close in on two left footer signings - Sources

Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of Tottenham defender Danny Rose and are also working to land the marquee capture of Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen by tomorrow night, Football Insider has learned.

The north-east giants have had a loan bid for Rose, 29, accepted by Spurs and he is set to head over today to undergo a medical and join for the rest of the season.

A Newcastle source has told Football Insider that the club are hopeful of bringing in a second left footer after submitting a bid for Bowen to Hull worth £20million including add-ons.

Details of the offer for the prolific attacker were revealed by Football Insider yesterday evening as United work against the clock to reinforce Steve Bruce’s squad.

At the very least, Newcastle are set to finalise a deal for Rose as they look to solve their left-sided defensive problem.

The England international international went public back in November to reveal that Spurs wanted him gone but he had no intention of leaving before his contract expires in the summer of 2021.

He has subsequently plummeted down the pecking order and now accepts he needs to move to get regular game time.

Jose Mourinho recently made it clear that Rose was being omitted for selection reasons rather than due to the injuries that had plagued him either side of the new year.

Bowen, 23, has developed into one of the most electrifying talents outside of the Premier League and has interest from more than 10 top-flight clubs.

Hull are vulnerable to losing their prize asset as he is out of contract in the summer, although there is an option in their favour to extend by 12 months.

In other Newcastle United, it can be REVEALED that West Brom have set their sights on signing first teamer Bruce is ready to let go.
