Newcastle United could seal ‘great’ Jack Harrison deal after source’s new update – pundit
Gabriel Agbonlahor suspects Newcastle United will not be willing to spend £35million on Leeds winger Jack Harrison this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa striker said the 25-year-old would be a “great signing” for Eddie Howe’s side though.
On Tuesday (23 August), sources told this site that Leeds would be willing to sell Harrison if their £35million asking price is met.
The Magpies have already had two bids for the winger rejected this summer.
The club’s highest offer so far is understood to have been around the £25million mark.
Harrison has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road.
When asked if the Magpies would likely be willing to spend £35million on the winger, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I don’t think they would on Harrison.
“They are looking at getting Joao Pedro through and I think that might be nearly done. That adds to [Callum] Wilson, [Allan] Saint-Maximin, [Miguel] Almiron’s in decent form. I do not think they will go for Harrison.

“But, if they have got the funds available then I think it would be a great addition. Saint-Maximin on one side, Harrison in for Almiron. There could be Wilson and Joao Pedro fighting for a place. It makes them a lot stronger.
“Newcastle are doing some very good business. They’re not going for world class stars they’re going for players that will bring them Premier League quality.“
