‘Newcastle source reveals why Bryan Mbeumo deal fell through’
Newcastle United have missed out on signing Bryan Mbeumo amid rival interest from both Tottenham and Manchester United.
The Cameroon international proved himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League last season by scoring 20 goals in 38 top-flight appearances.
Thanks to Mbeumo’s impressive services, the Bees landed a top-half spot before boss Thomas Frank departed in favour of joining Tottenham.
The 25-year-old would have been a great asset for Newcastle, but he is now set to move to either Old Trafford or North London.

Mbeumo motivated by money amid Newcastle United snub
Mbeumo could be tempted to follow Frank to Tottenham instead of joining up with Ruben Amorim at Man United.
Meanwhile, the Cameroon international could have helped Newcastle’s preparations for next season’s Champions League.
However, reporting via the Newcastle Chronicle live blog [19 June, 12.16 pm], Lee Ryder revealed: “We’ve seen with Bryan Mbeumo that his next move is going to be motivated by money, whether he ends up at Spurs or Man United.
“Newcastle sources told me that they could not break their pay structure this summer to land Mbeumo, even though they have scouted him and admire him.”

Mbeumo should favour Tottenham move over Man United
While Mbeumo has already snubbed a move to Newcastle, the former Troyes man is now tasked with deciding whether to join Tottenham or Man United.

Both the North Londoners and the North West giants endured woeful Premier League campaigns last term, finishing 17th and 15th, respectively.
However, unlike Amorim’s side, Frank’s men can offer Mbeumo Champions League football thanks to their Europa League triumph under former boss Ange Postecoglou.
But the prospect of playing at the top table of the European game is just one reason why the 25-year-old should favour a move to Tottenham over joining Man United.
Frank’s presence should allow the Brentford man to seamlessly transition into new surroundings in North London, while he knows that he is already capable of performing well in the 51-year-old’s system.
Furthermore, Mbeumo would have to significantly adjust his game to suit Man United, thanks to the wing-back system instilled by Amorim.
