Newcastle United fans rage at ‘corrupt’ chiefs after surprise Man City decision

Newcastle United fans have labelled UEFA “corrupt” after changing their rules to accommodate Man United and Man City in their competitions.

Reports say UEFA will allow both Manchester clubs to play alongside their sister teams in Europe, despite previous rules limiting the participation of clubs under the same owners.

Man United will now be allowed to compete in the Europa League alongside INEOS-owned Nice, while Man City will play in the Champions League, as well as City Football Group-owned Girona.

Newcastle fans have been left raging as a result, insisting that, should they have been in the same position, they would not have been afforded the same luxury.

This is after Premier League clubs held an emergency meeting in January to discuss transfer dealings between PIF-owned clubs.

Fans noted the rules being bent once more for the Premier League’s so-called big six clubs, while offers are not treated in the same manner.

UEFA has now been labelled “corrupt”, “biased” and “rigged”, with Magpies supporters in particular left frustrated by the attitude towards other clubs in comparison to themselves.

In other news, Newcastle are “very confident” of completing a new signing this week.
