Newcastle United fans stunned by what Lewis Hall did v Urawa Red Diamonds

Newcastle United fans were amazed by Lewis Hall’s performance in the pre-season friendly clash against Urawa Red Diamonds.

Eddie Howe’s men kickstarted their tour of Japan with a 4-1 win at the Saitama Stadium thanks to goals from Hall, Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak.

It was the left-back’s performance that stood out most, however, with fans left in awe of his display aside from the goal which found the net via a deflection.

Dan Burn has been preferred in the left-back position by Howe since Hall arrived last summer, but the youngster is now staking a claim to a starting spot.

Fans described his performance as “” as a highlight package went viral on social media, with Chelsea fans also left stunned.

Hall arrived on an initial season-long loan from Chelsea last summer before making his move permanent at the end of that spell.

Last season, he made 22 appearances for Newcastle, although just 11 of those came from the start.

Of those starts, seven came in the last nine Premier League games of the season as he gradually made his way into Howe’s first-team plans.

His displays in pre-season have led to fans insisting he will be an England international by the end of the season, while others went as far as to claim he could be the best in the world.
