‘Alexander Isak to snub Newcastle contract offer amid Liverpool interest’
Alexander Isak is set to turn down a long-term future with Newcastle United amid transfer interest from Liverpool.
The Sweden international enjoyed an outstanding season for Eddie Howe’s men last term, notching 27 goals and six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
After the 25-year-old fired Newcastle to Carabao Cup glory against the Reds, Isak has attracted interest from Liverpool.
Arne Slot is enjoying a strong summer transfer window at Anfield, but the Swede’s signature could be the final piece in the jigsaw as the Dutchman looks to continue strengthening his Premier League title-winning squad.

Isak set to turn down lucrative Newcastle contract offer
Amid the interest from Premier League champions Liverpool, Isak’s agent could demand a huge contract for his client worth up to £500,000 a week.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reported on Tuesday, 24 June: “They (Newcastle) are expected to offer Isak a lucrative contract extension this summer.
“While it is far from certain that he will agree to it, the striker’s deal runs until 2028, and St James’ Park executives are determined not to sell their prize asset this year.”

Isak must be tempted by Liverpool interest

By winning the Carabao Cup last season, Newcastle have proven that they are capable of winning the silverware that Isak’s performances are worthy of.

Furthermore, Howe’s side are set to compete in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons next term, which is an attractive proposition for the former Real Sociedad man.
But should Newcastle reluctantly accept a major offer from Liverpool this summer, the 25-year-old would surely make the switch to Anfield as opposed to staying in the North East.
A move to the Reds could see the striker spearheading the Merseyside giants to the potential retention of their Premier League title as well as vying for other silverware.
Having raced to top-flight glory last term, Liverpool will have been disappointed to see their FA Cup and Champions League chances slip away in the early phases of both competitions.
Isak could prove to be a major difference-maker as the Reds battle for yet more trophies.
