‘Newcastle United warned off big-money Mohammed Kudus move’

Newcastle United have been warned against the potential signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

The winger notched a return of five goals and three assists in 32 Premier League appearances for a West Ham side who finished just 14th in 2024/25.

Hammers boss Graham Potter faces a busy summer of recruitment after his side’s disappointing top-flight campaign.

Meanwhile, Kudus has a £75million release clause in his contract amid interest from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle.

Newcastle told £75m is ‘too much’ for Kudus

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that West Ham will reluctantly sell Kudus this summer after the winger has been eyed by both Newcastle and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, when playing a game of ‘transfer Tinder’ live on talkSPORT [10 June], Jeff Stelling was asked about the Magpies’ interest in the Ghana international and said: “It’s a left (no) from me. £75m is too much. I look at Newcastle and I’m thinking, would he get into the side on a regular basis? Probably, but they’ve got a lot of wide players.”

Stelling continued: “Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy, who had a wonderful season, Harvey Barnes as well. Kudus is a very talented player, West Ham fans would be devastated to lose him, I think. I’ll swipe left.”

Newcastle could facilitate Gordon exit if Kudus signs

Kudus has performed well for West Ham throughout the last two seasons and would deserve regular game time if he joins Newcastle ahead of next term.

The 24-year-old could be particularly keen to play in the Champions League for the Magpies, while the Hammers are unable to offer him any form of European competition next season.

But as alluded to by Stelling, Howe already enjoys the services of many wingers at his disposal, including England international Gordon.

However, Liverpool could sign Gordon as Arne Slot strives to strengthen his squad after guiding the Merseyside giants to the Premier League title in his first season in charge at Anfield.

If the former Everton man returns to the North West, then Kudus should have no qualms about how much game time he could enjoy for Howe’s men next season.

Furthermore, Kudus’ goal output could dramatically increase if he becomes a part of the same forward line as the prolific Alexander Isak.
