He signed a three-year deal with his boyhood in May 2022 and is reportedly earning £50,000-a-week.
Since making his senior debut in December 2018 under Rafa Benitez, the central midfielder has gone on to make 172 appearances in all competitions.
Newcastle are also plotting new transfers for next season, with Football Insider revealing (1 March) that they want to sign a centre-back, a central midfielder and a striker this summer.

Newcastle sit 10th in the Premier League table and were most recently eliminated in the FA Cup quarter-final by Man City before the international break (16 March).
They are next in action against Everton at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon (30 March).
