Newcastle ‘will pay the money’ for Carlos after Sky update – pundit
Newcastle United “will pay the money” to sign Sevilla defender Diego Carlos before the window closes.
That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies problematic pursuit of the 28-year-old.
According to Sky Sports (26 January), Newcastle are looking elsewhere for defensive reinforcements after being told they’d need to pay £37.7million to sign Carlos.

Sevilla are said to have upped their price tag of their centre-half in light of the £25million signing of Chris Wood.
Carlos is desperate to make the move to St. James’ Park and has told the La Liga side of his wishes.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the latest, Campbell said: “Newcastle will pay the money, do not worry about that.
“They will pay the money.
“Carlos is a player they have coveted for a long time. He says he wants to go. He is a top player who wants to go to Newcastle. They will make sure that deal gets done, I’m sure of it.
“The player will probably be applying pressure from his end now.
“It is important that they get at least one centre-half in before the window closes because they could be out without [Jamaal] Lascelles for a while now.”

Carlos has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season.
He has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in Seville.
In other news, an expert has claimed Newcastle United could yet sign Jesse Lingard after a journalist’s ‘huge’ update last night.
