Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes meets up with exit-linked West Ham star, images emerge
Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes met up with an exit-linked West Ham star just days before the first transfer window opens.
The 27-year-old’s brilliant form this season helped propel his side to Champions League qualification and their first major trophy in 70 years.
Pete O’Rourke revealed exclusively to Football Insider that Arsenal were interested in signing Guimaraes this summer.
But despite the exit links, Newcastle remain confident of keeping Guimaraes, thanks to securing their place in UEFA’s premier competition next season.
Thanks to a cautious approach to transfers, after their profit and sustainability rules (PSR) scare last summer, the Magpies are in a strong position to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Bruno Guimaraes links up with West Ham star Lucas Paqueta
Guimaraes‘ performances this season earned him a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first Brazil squad as they prepare for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
However, there was no place in the Selecao for Lucas Paqueta, after a poor season mired in the continued investigation into alleged spot-fixing [BBC Sport].
But during a break away from the pitch, the pair linked up for a fishing trip together, with Guimaraes sharing videos and pictures together on his Instagram story (30 May).

Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes could both be on the move this summer
Football Insider Verdict
Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that West Ham were willing to entertain offers for Paqueta this summer in a bid to raise funds for their rebuild.
The Brazilian was the subject of a big-money bid from in 2023, but if the Irons sell the 27-year-old this transfer window, it will likely be for a much-reduced fee than the £80million that was offered in 2023 by Man City.
Whilst the Hammers’ midfielder has endured a shocking fall from grace both on and off the pitch, Guimaraes is going from strength to strength in the North East.

The former Lyon man registered 11 goal contributions this season, the fourth-most of any Newcastle player in the Premier League.
Guimaraes is clearly enjoying his time off after a rigorous season, and the Magpies will be keen to see their talisman return injury-free after Brazil’s fixtures in June.
