‘Next level’ Reguilon claim made by Tottenham insider after ‘brilliant’ display
Sergio Reguilon turned in his best performance of the season as Tottenham beat Newcastle 3-2.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Reguilon, 24, had an eventful afternoon as Tottenham rose to fifth in the Premier League table with their win.
As well as assisting Spurs’ first goal, the defender was the first to notify Andre Marriner when a Newcastle fan was taken ill during the game.
He and Eric Dier were awarded a joint man of the match award for their swift actions.
Wenham was thrilled with the 2020 signing’s performance on the pitch but spotted one flaw he would like to see fixed.
“It was his best performance of the season,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He was up and down the wing all afternoon and offered the relevant support going forward.
“The only negative, and we’ve seen it a few times this season, is he needs to learn to shoot himself.
“There was a chance against Newcastle where he was in a better position to shoot but passed it.
“He actually has a really good, strong left foot. I would like to see him utilise that a bit more, it would take his game to the next level.

“If we can get him scoring then he is the complete wing back and a very valuable asset to Tottenham.
“He was brilliant against Newcastle and I hope we see more of the same in the coming weeks.”
