Nicholas: Tottenham duo to run riot in England World Cup qualifier
By Aramide Oladipo
Charlie Nicholas believes that Tottenham attacking duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli will run riot for the England national team in the World Cup qualifier against Malta on Friday night.
The Three Lions are leading the way at the top of Group F with 14 points to their name and they will travel to bottom of the table Malta seeking a fifth qualifying victory.
Nicholas believes that England will come away with an emphatic 5-0 win on the night.
Gareth Southgate’s side were the victors in the previous meeting as Alli and Daniel Sturridge found themselves on the scoresheet as England picked up a comfortable 2-0 win at Wembley Stadium last October.
Writing in his column on the official Sky Sports website, Nicholas is confident that Alli will notch up another goal against Malta this time around along with his Spurs teammate Kane.

“With Slovakia and Slovenia at home, this is the one which should see England over the line,” he wrote.
“It’s just about getting the job done, nothing impressive required.
“People tell me Malta are improving but Scotland ran out 5-1 winners so I’m not sure how that case stands – it should be a comfortable evening for Gareth Southgate’s men.
“I’d be looking high on the goal handicap and I fancy Dele Alli and Harry Kane both to score as they look to prove a point after a couple of bad results for Tottenham.”
Alli has enjoyed a fantastic start to the new Premier League campaign, scoring two goals in three matches against Newcastle United and Burnley.
However, Kane has failed to find the back of the net in the opening three matches, extending his incredible run of failing to score a goal in the month of August in the Premier League.
