Nigel Winterburn slates ridiculous key man ahead of Tottenham clash with Arsenal

By Amir Mir

Nigel Winterburn has slated the “ridiculous” Alexis Sanchez leading up to Arsenal’s clash against Tottenham this Sunday.

The Gunners key man was involved in a controversial incident during his side’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium.

During the second-half, Foxes defender Christian Fuchs was taking a throw-in with Sanchez standing very close to the player as he took the set-piece.

Fuchs then threw the ball directly at Sanchez, who after a slight pause, fell to the ground in a theatrical manner.

Speaking on the Premier League Daily Show, which aired on Sky Sports News, Winterburn had this to say about the incident.

“Sanchez’ reaction for me is ridiculous,” Winterburn told Sky Sports. “But Fuchs should have been booked again because what he did isn’t right [throwing the ball at Sanchez].”

There is the likelihood that a number of controversial incidents may occur when Tottenham take on their north London rivals at the weekend.

Both teams are set to clash in what will be a mouthwatering showdown at White Hart Lane, with Spurs chasing the title and their opponents looking to secure Champions League football.

Furthermore, it is set to be the final north London derby match set to be played at Spurs’ old home as they are currently in their final season at the Lane.

As a result, Pochettino will be hoping his team can give their fans a good send-off while the Arsenal supporters will be looking to upset their rivals.
