Amid Arsenal’s successful start to the new season, Real Madrid are interested in signing defender William Saliba.

Meanwhile, taking to Instagram on Wednesday, 17 September, Calafiori wrote: “3 points and clean sheet. Loved the spirit from everyone, what a team!”

Arsenal are in good form

The former Chelsea man dazzled against Nottingham Forest, helping the Gunners cope without fellow right-winger Bukayo Saka, who remains sidelined through injury.

However, the 23-year-old will have to perform at his very best once again when Arteta’s men face fellow title hopefuls Manchester City in the Premier League on 21 September.

Pep Guardiola’s men previously endured consecutive defeats to Tottenham and Brighton.

However, they proved their class in a comprehensive 3-0 victory over local rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 14 September.

Arsenal, therefore, need stars like Madueke to deliver, so that they avoid a similar fate to that of the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Arteta will want summer signing and striker Viktor Gyokeres to score against a potential title rival for the first time since arriving from Sporting.
