Leeds United legend Norman Hunter has blasted the club’s performance in their Yorkshire derby defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Saturday.
Atdhe Nuhui’ second-half brace earned the Owls the derby day bragging rights as Leeds’ winless run was extended to four games.
Jay-Roy Grot came off the bench to find the net, but it was not enough to spot United from slumping to a 2-1 home loss.
The Whites have won just once since Boxing Day and manager Paul Heckingbottom appears to have been unable to stop the rot that led to Thomas Christiansen being sacked in early February.
And Elland Road hero Hunter appeared to be fuming with the performance judging by his quotes.
“I can’t watch that and am freezing,” he said, as quoted by Yorkshire Post reporter Leon Wobschall on his personal Twitter account.

Football Insider verdict
It must be tough for legends like Hunter to watch this absolute dross that Leeds are serving up at the moment. Their season is dead and buried now, but to put in such a hapless display against their local rivals is inexcusable. Fingers may be pointed at Heckingbottom but the issue goes much deeper than the manager. Andrea Radrizzani has criticised the players but the club owner needs to realise that the signings have not been good enough. Victor Orta must be relieved of his duties for flushing cash down the toilet with a series of poor signings. At least give the Spaniard less of a say in transfers.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have terminated this 24-year-old defender’s deal at the club.
