'There is still time' - Callum McGregor makes admission about Celtic transfer activity

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has admitted that he is surprised at the lack of transfer activity done by the Hoops so far in January.
The Scottish champions have signed two players so far – Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan – with Morgan already loaned back to St Mirren as part of the deal.
The 24-year-old Scottish international mainstay of Brendan Rodgers side expected the Bhoys to be busier and is willing to fight for his place in the team if another midfielder is signed in the next week.
“There’s not been much happening, it’s probably the quietest one I’ve seen so far but there is still time,” McGregor said, as quoted by the Evening Times.
“The manager will be looking. For us we have to keep doing it on the pitch and in training. I think every season I’ve been here they have signed an attacking midfielder or a midfielder.
“That’s just part of life of being at a big club. You have to keep going and keep proving yourself.”
McGregor and his team-mates returned from their winter break in Dubai with a 5-0 victory over Brechin City as the Bhoys begun their defence of the Scottish Cup thanks to goals from Forrest, Sinclair, Ntcham, Boyata and Edouard.
McGregor had a decent match, ending up with two assists as the Bhoys eased through to a tie against Partick Thistle in the last sixteen in February.
There’s no let-up in the fixtures department for Celtic as they return to league action against Partick Thistle at Firhill on Tuesday night.
The Hoops will be looking to maintain their eight point lead over Aberdeen at the top of the table as the second-half of the league season gets underway.
