Nottingham Forest backed to sign ‘great alternative’ to Djed Spence after bid update – expert
Kevin Campbell has backed Nottingham Forest to sign Liverpool defender Neco Williams this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Forest and Arsenal striker said the 21-year-old would be a “very good” alternative to Djed Spence.
Steve Cooper’s side have shown a keen interest in retaining the services of Spence after an impressive loan spell at the club last season.

However, interest from Tottenham are other Premier League clubs has complicated matters.
According to The Athletic‘s Daniel Taylor (29 June), Liverpool have rejected an opening offer of £11million plus £4million in add-ons from Forest for Neco Williams.
Williams spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham and excelled in his 14 Championship appearances.
He has three years left on his contract at Anfield.
When asked by Football Insider if Williams would be a welcome addition at the City Ground next year, Campbell said: “Listen, Neco Williams is a very good player.
“There is times where he has deputised for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool didn’t miss a beat. He is not Trent Alexander-Arnold, we know that, but he is a capable right-back.
“If the Djed Spence deal can’t get done for whatever reason he would be a great alternative.

“He has Premier League experience and could come in and hit the ground running. He would start.
“I really think Neco Williams would be a good signing.”
In other news, a pundit has issued an emphatic Keinan Davis claim as Nottingham Forest deal is done – ‘I know for a fact’.
