Nottingham Forest fans are delighted as the club took a step closer to staying at the City Ground after reaching an agreement with the council.
This comes as reports claimed the City Ground land had been made available for sale to the club with both parties working to complete a transaction quickly.
As revealed by Football Insider, Evangelos Marinakis is keen to redevelop the stadium in a bid to bring in added revenue, although an expansion may not have been possible.
There had been talks of the club moving away from the City Ground, angering supporters who want to stay at the club’s home given the history it holds.
After the latest update, they have taken one step closer to being able to redevelop the stadium rather than having to move elsewhere.
The ball is now in Forest’s court with planning permission yet to be granted, although fans responded positively to the latest update.

Concerns had continued to rise about moving away from their home given the length of time taken over a decision, but supporters will now look to the future.

This comes weeks after the initial report claimed an agreement was close, with the loose ends seemingly now tied up.
