Nottingham Forest fans explode at ‘corrupt’ Premier League after BBC reveal
Nottingham Forest fans have been left raging at the Premier League after Man United reported a net loss of over £113.2million for the 2023-24 financial year.
The latest losses have taken their total losses over the past five years to over £370million, as per BBC Sport, leading to questions about the club’s financial security.
However, with the league’s profit and sustainability only allowing losses of £105million over a three-year period, fans are questioning whether United will be punished.
The BBC report shared that “despite the results, United are not expected to breach the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules”.
Given the extent of the losses the Red Devils have suffered in recent years, fans are questioning how they can continue to lose money while avoiding any rule breaches.
Nottingham Forest and Everton were both handed points deductions last season after breaching PSR, and many are now calling for Erik ten Hag’s side to suffer the same fate.
With the Premier League’s recent crackdown on their financial rules and punishments handed out or threatened, many believe United should be next in line.
Man United financial crisis leaves Nottingham Forest fans raging
Forest and Everton fans especially have taken notice of the ongoing situation, and are expecting the club to be dealt with in the same way they were.
However, many supporters feel United will be allowed to get away with the constant loss of money and growing debt due to their status as one of the world’s biggest clubs.
After the news was shared on social media, fans from across the Premier League expressed their views, with many Forest fans labelling the league “corrupt” if nothing is done.
